I started doing signage directly out of high school, hand painting signs for a major theme park—it wasn't long before my love for signage grew and I wanted to be on the design side of things.
I earned my bachelors degree in graphic design at the Art Institute of Orange County in 2006. While putting myself through college I ran a sign shop designing sign ordering systems. I learned a lot about corporate standards and brand consistency while on the job.
After graduating with my bachelors, I pursued a career in designing signage, instead of just making it. I was lucky enough to land a job at Creative Pull Design—where I was in charge of designing marquees, way finding, and directional signage for major theme parks.
Moving on from there, I pursued a career in the commercial industry—where I put my skills to work designing set graphics, props, and themed environments for live events.
Now that I’m in a position to open my own shop I’m very excited to see what the future holds in store for JP Graphics | Design + Print.
